The Friends of Beyond Committee
Since the end of 2019, after two of the most disruptive years in recent memory, the Christmas season of 2021 offered the Beyond residents several opportunities. We were able, despite all the looming restrictions, to gather with our neighbours for a Christmas celebration party on the Peregrine reserve; and to extend our good fortunes and Christmas spirit to the less fortunate in the broader community.
Friends of Beyond catered a BBQ with all the provisions, trimmings and accessories donated, mostly by the Friends of Beyond committee members. The usual BBQ fare was offered and a new item was introduced – New York style hot dogs (that’s right, not snags – hotdogs) and they went down a treat. We will likely be seeing them at future BBQs.

Alexandrina Council
A new Manager for Field Services has been appointed and will commence in February. They will be a key contact for us to help ensure community concerns are being heard. This also means we will see a lot more of Vikki as she returns to her role.
We are in discussions with Council on managing watering and pond water levels going forward to ensure the ongoing health of our reserves and ponds. While currently Council does not water smaller reserves once established, Council have confirmed that street trees should be being watered, so if you have concerns this has not happened, please log a complaint with Council.
Following the many questions for Council at our last General Meeting, a Council representative will be attending our next General Meeting.

The Weedies
The holiday season is sort of over now and the FoB working bee gang are back weeding, pruning, and watering again as of Friday 4 February.
You'll see us around in the Reserves from 8.30 to 10.30 weekly.
We welcome you to stop by and chat with us if you have any questions, ideas or things to share about the Reserves.
Just look out for those hi-viz vests!
